Description |
Body has a curved bottom line and panneled sides rising to each end, the back being the highest part. A seat is fixed across the back and there is a second seat in the center of the body. The back seat has a leather covered squab and both seat cushions are leather covered (not original). There is a folding head to the back part, covered in rubber coated cloth. The body is entered by means is the step in the center of the left side only. Four scroll-irons on wooden spring bars fastened to half elliptical springs placed parallel to and above each axle. The axles are concected by a single wooden perch. The wheels are fastened with linch-pins to the wooden axle trees. The undercarriage has closed futchells with a sway-bar at the rear that works under the perch. There are swingletrees for a pair of horses. Four-bow top. Coach lace trim with tan, cream and red stripe around edge of cushion fall. Hand forged step on left side. Body has been repainted black. |
