Summary |
Viennese "wagenburg" (Museum of Carriages) at Schonbrunn Palace is one of the best preserved collections of historic vehicles and horse tack. The collection houses not only the core of the Viennese Court's fleet of vehicles but also examples from various aristocrastic families of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, as well as carriages owned by Napoleon and his son. The collection is unusual in showing each step in the develiopment of carriage construction, from the Baroque state coach to the automobiles of the early twentieth century.
